One of the major issues we now all face is developing a bad posture through excessive sitting. Even really active people spend the majority of their lives sat down. The good news is that you can counter these effects more easily than you would have thought by using a few targeted stretching or strengthening exercises.
I have created some routines you can do while sat at your office desk, the first video gives you 7 stretches you can do from your office chair:
This routine shows 4 postures you can sit in while working and typing away, this will aid your flexibility and can be done without any interference within your day. The video also includes some other stretches you can do while sitting that weren’t in the first video.
The final routine is a strengthening sequence you can do from your office chair while at work. This links into the same school of thought as doing a daily resistance training routine which we covered last month. Through small but frequent bouts of strength training over a prolonged period of time you can make very good progress
What Does This Mean For You?
I am always told that people just want a simple, quick and easily done routine to aid posture or strength. I don’t think it gets much simpler than a set of things you can do from the comfort of your working chair. Give them a watch and look to implement them into your life going forwards.
