This day and age almost no one has time to read books so I am often asked to sum up my book in a sentence or two. So, here is a concise overview for you – 

-My book outlines the model I created to describe the process around changing your body, called; ‘The Grand Unified Theory of Body Transformations’. 

-The model views a body transformation as having five influences that are simultaneously affecting how you act and how well you do.

-The five areas are –

Motivation – How much desire for your goal and how often you think about it.

Plans & Actions – Which behaviours you plan to do vs actually do in real life.

Neural Connection – How your brain is currently automatically wired to behave.

Stress & Emotions – How much stress you are under & how it affects your goal.

Fitness Personality – How you and your environment influence your behaviour.

-To get better results and/or to achieve your goal you just need to raise your behaviours across one or more of the five areas.  

-The model also considers other factors that influence the change process:

Type of body goal – Different goals require more / less time & skill demands.

Duration – How long you need to transform your body to achieve your goal

Individuality – How your body, genetics & prior background affect things.

Change Process – How to create change & the best types of plans to follow.

What Does This Mean For You?

I created this model to explain how transformations actually happen in the real world and to provide a road map if you are stuck and always struggle. You can finally break the pattern and get the results you want.

The health & fitness field is stuck in the plans & actions influence area. Everyone wants to know what to eat or how to exercise yet this completely misses the point. Could you stick to the best and most optimal plan of action? The one used by the people in best shape on the planet? The answer is NO, or perhaps you can for a couple of days, but not the three months needed to achieve your goal. 

Due to social media you can find out the plan used by almost every person in great shape. There are no secrets this day and age. In fact, you probably already know enough. Sticking to an ok plan is better than not following the perfect plan. So why can’t you follow it? This comes back to the areas of influences discussed above. 

You cannot stick to it because your are not as motivated as other people, this can change!  

You cannot stick to it because you haven’t trained your neural connections to naturally do what you need to do, this can change!

You cannot stick to it because you have not developed more productive ways to handle stress that help your body, this can change!

You cannot stick to it because you have not got the right environment or identity around your health & fitness, this can change!

The list goes on, but the point is that if you have struggled to get results previously, or always hit the same plateau and ceiling with your results, then there is a way around it and a way to breakthrough. 

This is how I work with people these days, trying to work on all the areas and then you can make a big breakthrough. It is much simpler than you think to address the above by the way, it takes no more time nor effort. Just need to channel your focus slightly differently.
